I write because the stories spill out of my mind. I can't stop them. They take me unawares sometimes. I have to share them otherwise it doesn't seem like they've been born. They find their breath in those that read them. And I can almost hear that breath - gasping or pausing to take in what the story has told them. And I love stories. Tiny things with such power. A line here and there, a phrase a sentence that to me seems so perfect it makes me stop in my tracks. I gaze at my screen. I love them. The words and their collective power. That's why I write.
